Wondering what Lord of Life is like on the weekends? We've assembled answers to the most common questions. We hope these are helpful for you in getting to know Lord of Life better.

Any Questions?

Can I take Communion?  ABSOLUTELY!!   You don't have to be Lutheran to receive the Sacrament.  All who are baptized and believe that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior, are welcome to receive Holy Communion.  This gift is itself the real presence of God's forgiveness and mercy.  We commune children as early as first grade, providing they have had instruction on the Sacrament's meaning.  Those who have not, of any age, are asked to come forward for a blessing.

Do I need to become a member of Lord of Life to participate in worship and other activities?  No.   Our desire is to make you feel welcome and to offer you a church home where you can grow in faith.  Our desire is to make you feel welcome and to offer you a church home where you can grow in faith. Our focus is not membership, but rather on active discipleship and growing in relationship with Christ. I would like to join the congregation. What do I do?   We invite prospective members to speak with the pastor at your earliest convenience.

Will children be welcomed at worship?  ABSOLUTELY!   We love kids here at Lord of Life! We encourage families to worship together, and also place high value on a time for children specifically geared towards them. Following the Chilren's Message and reading of the Gospel, the children are dismissed for Sunday School.  The children are welcomed back to share Holy Communion with their families and remain with them until the end of worship.   We also have "Rainbow Bags" filled with quiet activities and books that children may use during worship. Children and youth participate in worship services as acolytes, assisting with communion, and sometimes music. The children are also invited to play a variety of hand instruments during the closing song at worship each week. Are there programs for children and youth outside of worship? YES! There are ministries and programs for pre-elementary through high school, including Sunday School, Youth Group, and Vacation Bible School.

Will I be asked to stand up in front of everyone?  ABSOLUTELY NOT!   We are honored you have decided to worship with us and realize that your attendance is not for our benefit but for the uplifting of our God.  We will greet you warmly with smiles and handshakes.   After worship we have a special gift for you (children also recieve a special gift just for them) that has more information about the congregation.  Feel free to join us for fellowship and refreshments after worship as well.

Do I have to dress up for worship?  NO!   God accepts us as we are -- no matter who we are, what we do, or how we dress.  Worshipers at Lord of Life wear anything from jeans and tee shirts, to slacks and golf shirts, to casual dresses and sandals.  Please wear whatever you feel is most comfortable for you in this setting.

Will I be able to follow along with the service?  YES!   Our weekly worship bulletins are designed to provide everything you need to participate in worship. The format is simple and easy to follow. We use either the Lutheran Book of Worship or the With One Voice book for music, along with a a variety of praise songs that are printed in the bulletin each week.

Am I required to give money at worship? NO!
Our tithes & offerings are given as an act of worship for attendees who consider Lord of Life their home. For guests at Lord of Life, we want you to be blessed by the worship gathering and to give as God inspires you.

Is there anyone to ask if I have other questions about Lord of Life? YES! Prior to coming to worship, you can call or email the church office at any time. Before and after worship, any one of our disciples would be more than willing to answer any question you may have. During worship, you may fill out your information in the Welcome Folders (located in each row of chairs). This will help us get to know you, allow us to answer any questions you may have, and let you know what's happening at Lord of Life. Feel free to ask as many questions as you can think of. We're here to bless you and to help you feel at home.
